Seemed like the most fun and natural thing to do. We share similar guitar scuzz and riff heavy improvising when playing live. I was immediately drawn to Kikagaku Moyo. I was asked by the organizers to find another group at the festival to collaborate with for a one-off performance. We couldn’t paint a better picture of the album than Ryley Walker already has, so here’s his words: “So, the group came together at Le Guess Who? Festival in Utrecht, Netherlands in 2018. Other highlights include maverick cellist Kelsey Lu, minimalist composer Midori Takada and Japanese house genius Soichi Terada. R&B oddball Swamp Dogg, as well as performances from Neneh Cherry, Tirzah and Yves Tumor are among today’s additions to the bill, which also features stages curated by Moor Mother, Shabaka Hutchings and Devendra Banhart.
